 | Application for BAPTISM Baptism at Saint Matthew's generally occurs on the following days: The First Sunday after January 6th, the Sunday after Easter Day, the Day of Pentecost (seven weeks after Easter Day), the Sunday of the Bishop's visit (varies), and the first Sunday in November. All baptisms occur in the context of a regularly scheduled Sunday morning service. If you or a member of your family desires to be baptized, please complete the online Application for Baptism form and submit it to the church office. Shortly, then, a member of the church staff will contact you to arrange for the baptism date. |

 | Application for CONFIRMATION or RECEPTION Confirmation: The Episcopal Church's theology of Confirmation has continued to evolve along with its understanding of baptism. Confirmation is no longer seen as the completion of Christian initiation, nor is Confirmation a prerequisite for receiving communion. Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ's body the church. Accordingly, Confirmation has been increasingly understood in terms of a mature, public reaffirmation of the Christian faith and the baptismal promises.
Reception: Baptized persons who have been members of another Christian fellowship and who wish to be affiliated with the Episcopal Church may make a public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their baptism in the presence of a bishop. The bishop lays hands on each candidate for reception and says, "We recognize you as a member of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church, and we receive you into the fellowship of this Communion." Candidates for reception normally have made a mature commitment in another Christian fellowship.
If you or a member of your family desires to be confirmed or received, please complete the online application form and submit it. |

 | Application for MARRIAGE Weddings at Saint Matthew's are a joyous event. It is the custom at Saint Matthew's that a least one person of the engaged couple is a pledging (giving) member in good standing of the congregation. Couples are directed to contact a member of the clergy prior to making any plans for marriage at Saint Matthew's and prior to setting a specific date for the wedding. The Application for Marriage may be found at the link above. Couples will also want to download and study the Wedding Policy Booklet which gives an overview of the rules governing services of Holy Matrimony at Saint Matthew's. It is important for couples to understand that no wedding date is to be finalized until approved by the Rector. Please bear in mind that there are certain blackout periods when weddings at Saint Matthew's will not be allowed. These include, but are not limited to, Sundays, the first two weeks of the calendar year, the church season of Lent, Holy Week, Easter Week, National Holidays, Thanksgiving weekend, and December 20th through 31st. Other times may also be blackout times, so please remember to consult the clergy first regarding setting a wedding date. |
